Plumbers do so much to keep houses, businesses and city streets clean and free of human waste. When plumbing suddenly does not work, everyone relies heavily on a plumber to fix it. People who are a little more high-strung tend to think everything is an emergency, but in the plumbing world, true emergencies require immediate attention so that the health and welfare of the building's owner and the surrounding area is maintained. If you are not sure that your situation requires immediate emergency plumber services, ask yourself the following questions.
1. Is the Plumbing Issue Causing Flooding?
Water leaks that result from broken or exploded pipes and are producing an inch of water every ten to fifteen minutes definitely qualify as an emergency. Once you get a plumber to respond to your emergency call, try and get all of your belongings out of harm's way. In basements, everything that is valuable to you and stored on a shelf below three feet will need to be moved as quickly as possible. Despite your plumber's ability to respond to your emergency call, it will still take him or her some time to get to you and then some additional time to turn the water off before repairing your pipes.
2. Will Waiting for a Plumber Cause Extensive Damage?
For instance, your pipes froze in the middle of winter and burst. Once the water thaws, it will continue to flow and damage the floors, ceilings, and any personal belongings within range of the burst pipes. Waiting for a non-emergency plumber means your home or building may be a total loss. This is definitely an emergency situation for you and for the plumber.
3. Was the Cause of the Plumbing Problem Dangerous?
Teenagers think it's quite funny to throw cherry bombs into a toilet and watch them blow up. Not only is this a stupid prank, but it's also a very dangerous one, The shards of porcelain toilet bowl can slice like glass or knives, and the plumbing is so severely damaged that it costs hundreds of dollars to replace. This is another emergency situation that cannot wait. A custodian can turn off the water supply to this toilet, but the damage is such that no one can use the restroom until all the necessary repairs have been completed.
Have an Alternative for Toileting and Personal Hygiene Needs While the Plumber Works
If a toilet in your home or building has a plumbing problem, have a second toilet you can use until the first one is fixed. Also consider the fact that the plumbing in your home or building may share a toilet stack or a single sewer pipeline, in which case you may need to block off an entire restroom and/or use a bathroom/shower somewhere else until the emergency situation is under control. If your situation fits one of these descriptions, call a professional like Puget Sound Plumbing. Some plumbing emergencies can be completed in a day or less, but others, e.g., explosives in a public bathroom, will need several days or more to fix.Share

Hi everyone, my name is Bonita Ploursa. After living in my first home for several years, I decided the kitchen needed a drastic change. I spent the bulk of my time baking cakes, making candy and canning jam in my kitchen. However, cleanup was a nightmare due to the lack of a dishwasher. Furthermore, my sink area could only fit one small pot, which made it impossible to wash out my cookware. I hired a plumber to help route lines for a dishwasher and replace the sink. I also had my plumber install a nice garbage disposal in the sink. The process took very little time and no effort on my part. I would like to discuss this upgrade, and others like it, on my website. I will explore the various ways plumbers move pipes and install appliances throughout the kitchen.
