If you experience a toilet backing up, you will likely attempt to use a plunger. If you are lucky, the problem may simply be too much toilet paper, and a plunger will get the job done. However, if the problem persists or the toilet flushes slowly, then you need to call a professional. If you fix the problem, only to have it return, then you will also need to call for help. The following are three reasons why you need to make the call.
Something may be lodged inside the toilet
Small solid pieces of plastic or metal can accidentally drop into the toilet bowl. Sometimes a child will throw a small toy inside the toilet bowl. When this is flushed down the toilet, it may become lodged inside the toilet. This object will catch toilet paper, causing a stoppage. You may clear out some of the toilet paper with a plunger, but new paper will be caught by the object, and you will have another stoppage. A professional plumber can often use an auger to pull the object out of the toilet or push it through.
You may cause a leak
In some cases, the toilet may need to be removed in order to clear the line. It may seem like an easy thing to do, but it is surprisingly easy to crack a ceramic toilet. In addition, when you put the toilet back on, care must be taken to seal the base of the toilet to prevent leaks, and the water line must be reconnected so it is not leaking either. Professional plumbers do this every day, and they have the proper seals and washers to insure that your toilet is leak free.
It may not be the toilet
Even though your toilet is clogged, it may not be a problem with the toilet. All of the drain lines connect near the toilet. From here, a main drain line connects your home to the sewer line under the street. If this main line is clogged, your toilet will be clogged as well. This problem can also manifest itself by creating a slow flushing toilet. The culprit is usually roots from trees that have made their way into the main drain line. A professional plumber has rotor equipment that is specially designed to cut through these roots and clear your drain line.
If you experience a stopped up toilet, do not waste much of your time fooling around with a plunger. Have a professional plumber come out to your home, so the exact cause of the stoppage can be determined and the problem fixed. (For more information, you can contact AA Plumbing)Share

Hi everyone, my name is Bonita Ploursa. After living in my first home for several years, I decided the kitchen needed a drastic change. I spent the bulk of my time baking cakes, making candy and canning jam in my kitchen. However, cleanup was a nightmare due to the lack of a dishwasher. Furthermore, my sink area could only fit one small pot, which made it impossible to wash out my cookware. I hired a plumber to help route lines for a dishwasher and replace the sink. I also had my plumber install a nice garbage disposal in the sink. The process took very little time and no effort on my part. I would like to discuss this upgrade, and others like it, on my website. I will explore the various ways plumbers move pipes and install appliances throughout the kitchen.
